Bill Murray Surprises Cubs Fan With A Seat Next To Him At World Series

Bill Murray really knocked this one out of the park.

A Chicago Cubs baseball fan who showed up to Game 6 of the World Series without a ticket reportedly wound up sitting next to the comedy legend behind home plate after he casually gave her his spare.

Karen Michel of Indiana said she was outside of the box office at Cleveland’s Progressive Field hoping to get into the sold-out game Tuesday. She spotted Murray and, like a month to a flame, decided to follow him.

“He turns around and says, ‘Here, here’s a ticket,’” she recalled to MLB.com.

“I thought it was just a ticket to get in,” she said. “I didn’t think it would be anything like this.”

The dream-come-true gift placed Michel in the stands among a host of celebrities, including Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, retired hockey Hall of Famer Chris Chelios and NBC’s Al Roker.

One photo snapped during the game cheekily shows Michel putting “bunny ears” on the “Groundhog Day” star, who is seen in matching Cubs attire.

Murray’s kind gesture was perhaps just what the Cubs needed, as they went on to beat the Cleveland Indians 9–3 and proceed to Game 7.

Game 7 of the World Series airs Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on Fox.
