Affectionately called Coach, Billy Carson started Pantheon Elite Records with the goal of creating a Pantheon Of Musical Gods that perform conscious music in several genres. With the acquisition of independent artist Donny Arcade he may be one step closer to achieving that goal.
Billy recruited multi-platinum producers Tony Castillo AKA Gorilla Tek, and Todd Daniel Moore AKA LT Moe. Then added two collaborations with the living legend Steven Howse AKA Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-n- Harmony and you start to believe in Billy Carson's vision.
Billy Carson co-wrote 5 of the songs on the 13 track album, "We Are Not Alone" by Donny Arcade, and is featured on the interlude track. He also executive produced the entire album and corresponding music videos.
Billy Carson may be new to the business of the music industry, but he is not new to music. Billy was a student of music early on in grade school. Eventually becoming a very good trumpet player. While living in North Miami, Florida, Mr. Carson had formed his own little Jazz Band with friends from his school. They would go all over town playing for tips.
Billy Carson says that the reason he decided to produce a conscious album was so that he could create free thinking researchers. Mr. Carson says "The beauty of music is that it has been used to teach people and pass down wisdom for thousands of years by our ancestors. The beats and cadence we use are modern, also The lyrics in the songs are very deep and are loaded with content. First the listener will like the beat and sound. Then they will begin to listen to the words. Most will begin to realize they might not know exactly what those words mean. The next thing they will do is google the phrases in the lyrics, and that's what I want. I want to create researchers."
It seems that conscious hip-hop is making a comeback. Conscious hip-hop artist, Kendrick Lamar won a Grammy for album of the year in 2015.
The song entitled "False Flaggin" from Donny Arcade's album is co-written by Billy Carson has charted twice in October 2016. Coming in at number #86 TOP 100 INDEPENDENT CHART and #37 OFFICIAL MUSIC CHARTS. The single is currently spinning over 700 times per week nationwide on a combination of satellite, college and BDS radio stations. The track has also reached almost a half million spins on Spotify.
