Look at Mama Bison go!

We’ve heard of mama bears being ferocious, but mama bisons aren’t far behind.

Yellowstone National Park Service tweeted out photos Tuesday of a bison fending off a wild coyote from her calf.

A spokesperson with the park couldn’t confirm how long ago the bison had given birth, but told HuffPost the calf was probably less than a month old.

Judging by the look in that mother’s eyes, she was ready to kill before anyone hurt her baby. The coyote wisely backed away.

Yellowstone National Park told HuffPost that animals on the 2.2-million-acre reserve aren’t given official names, but visitors often pick out nicknames for their favorite animals.

We’re sure with that side-eye, the mama bison and her baby will have quite a few fans handing out suggestions.
