Blake Shelton's New Post-Divorce Ballad Is A Slow, Soulful Hit

And it's totally about Gwen Stefani...

Country singer and "Voice" coach Blake Shelton is back with a soulful new single about heartbreak. Shelton released the song "Came Here To Forget" on Tuesday, and it was already at the top of the iTunes charts by the afternoon.

Fellow "Voice" coach Adam Levine and Shelton's girlfriend, singer Gwen Stefani, tweeted out their praise for the new song:

Shelton appears to reference Stefani, in the new song with lyrics like, "Girl getting over him and I'm getting over her/ The eyes have it made, ain't gotta say a word/ Misery loves company, that's why it's you and me."

Stefani and Shelton both faced high-profile splits in 2015 before the two started dating and rubbing it in everyone's faces. They're clearly still enamored with each other, as Stefani has said that her latest single, "Make Me Like You," is a nod to her relationship with the country singer. The couple's romance will also be featured prominently in Shelton's new tunes, according to a new interview.

"I can put my life experience, whether it's a divorce or my new girlfriend, whatever those experiences are, whatever things that are happening in my life, I have an outlet for them," Shelton told Entertainment Tonight of his new album. "I have music. I can write songs, I can sing about it."

That you can, Blake. We'll be waiting for some new songs with bated breath.
