5 Delicious Breakfast Hacks Americans Should Borrow From The British (And It Does Include Bacon!)

Brits know a thing or two about delicious candy and they also know how to make a mighty fine cup of tea. They've also got some serious tips for making breakfast the heartiest meal of the day, as you can see in this new video from the delightful people over at "Anglophenia."

Here are a few things Americans can learn from a traditional, Full English Breakfast:

1. A hearty breakfast is the best way to start your day.

Forget eating sugary cereal or filling up on pancakes. The Brits know that devouring eggs, bacon, sausages, tomato, toast, black pudding, potatoes, mushrooms and baked beans will keep you full for quite some time!

2. British back bacon > American bacon.

Instead of using all pork belly for their bacon like Americans do, the British use a combination of pork belly and pork loin. Somewhat similar to Canadian bacon, it's not smoked and will add a unqiue, new flavor to your breakfast.

3. Say goodbye to sausage patties.

Try switching out your regular sausage selection for a Lincolnshire or Cumberland "banger," fried or grilled.

4. Add some kidney fat and pig's blood to your diet (yes, really!).

Typically mixed with kidney fat, oatmeal and pigs' blood, black pudding is one daring breakfast food you should definitely add to an adventuresome diet. Beware: black pudding is NOT actually pudding (if you couldn't tell -- it's more like a sausage).

5. Beans -- they ARE for breakfast!

While you might normally save beans for dinner, try adding some supper to your morning meal. We recommend pairing it with one of the lovely meats you see above (back bacon or say, Cumberland sausage) with a side of eggs or toast.
