Burning Man 2012 -- a Walk Along the Esplanade

At about midnight on Thursday night, I decided to walk all around the Esplanade taking pictures of all the pretty sights. With the full-moon lighting up the clouds, it was too much to resist. These pictures were all shot within a three hour period, using an 18mm-55mm Canon lens on a CanonT2i, mounted on a $12 tripod.

I've been attending BM for 13 years now. With no intention of going this year, mostly because of the great ticket fiasco, this summer has been very relaxing, but then, at the very last minute, I was offered a ticket... so I went... again. The dust was still there from before, along with about 50,000 of my closest friends. There seemed to be less big art, probably because of the mess with the tickets, but overall it looked just like any other year.

I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of mess after the burn on Saturday night, considering the influx of first timers. I also saw very little inappropriate behavior. I did see too many law enforcement officers, but they seemed to be having an OK time anyway.

If you want to know more, just google it. I'd rather just show you some pretty pictures.
