Winter is coming, and cheap travel to Iceland is only getting cheaper. Hooray!
Icelandic airline Wow Air is adding Pittsburgh to its list of U.S. departure cities, and the carrier has unleashed a load of cheap flights in celebration.
The Pittsburgh hub won’t open until later this year, but now is the time to score cheap tickets from many of Wow’s U.S. departure cities ― including New York and Los Angeles ― to European destinations in Iceland and beyond.
There are indeed a few catches: Wow’s cheap fares tend to sell out quickly, and the airline is known to nickel and dime passengers with service charges for booking flights, fees for large carry-on bags and more. But hey, $99 and change is a pretty sweet deal for a journey to one of the most stunning places on Earth.
Wow has been building its U.S. presence in recent years, often offering $99 fare deals when a new departure city joins the pack. Even after these celebrations end, the airline remains one of the cheapest ways to get to Iceland for Americans planning trips from Miami, New York, Boston, D.C., San Francisco, L.A., and now Pittsburgh.
