Starting out on her chocolate journey, Sarah Hart of Alma Chocolate, pondered the Latin name for cocoa: Theobroma - which means "food of the gods". What resulted was religious icons made of deep, rich chocolate hand gilded with edible gold. I went to visit her small shop in Portland, Oregon, and got to see the skillful expertise that goes into each piece. While filming, a customer stopped in to purchase one of the chocolate Madonnas (familiar to many as Our Lady of Guadalupe) as a gift. When asked if it would be eaten, he responded most likely not. I could understand that - chocolate lover that I am - for these are really works of art!
