Chuck Todd Calls Out Donald Trump Over 9/11 Claims

"Just because somebody repeats something doesn’t make it true.”

Chuck Todd got into a heated exchange with Donald Trump over his claims that Muslims were cheering on 9/11. The story has been widely discredited, but Trump refuses to relent.

"You said you saw this. Nobody can find evidence of this," Todd said. "It was a myth. It was a false rumor... where did you see this?... In Jersey City? You saw Jersey City?"

"I saw it on television. I saw clips," Trump insisted, adding that "hundreds" of people told him the same thing.

"This didn't happen in New Jersey," Todd fired back, noting that "just because somebody repeats something doesn’t make it true.”

Todd also called out the presidential hopeful for relying on second-hand reports. He said that if the media reported on Trump using hearsay, "you would say it was crazy."

“You’re running for President of the United States!” Todd said. “Your words matter. Truthfulness matters. Fact-based stuff matters.”
