A Texas pastor is angry with featherweight champion Conor McGregor for saying in December that he would "whoop [Jesus Christ's] ass" in a fight.

Pastor Donnie Romero of the Stedfast Baptist Church in Texas recently went on a passionate rant about McGregor and his comments. In the rant, Romero said that he hopes God smites the UFC fighter for his comments.

"I'm going to pray that God strikes this guy dead" Romero said. "I'm going to pray the God strikes him down with a lightning bolt."

McGregor brought up God once more last month when he said in press conference that he was "cool" with Jesus because "Gods recognize Gods." Pastor Romero was not a fan of that comment either, saying that McGregor was "nothing."

How many fans the Irish fighter lost as a result of his comments we cannot say. But we now know at least one pastor hopes he gets struck dead by God.
