Despite Intense Opposition, Dakota Access Pipeline Is Now Operational

The 1,172-mile-long Dakota Access Pipeline is officially in commercial use. The pipeline, which sparked protests and runs from North Dakota to Illinois, will transport 470,000 barrels of crude oil each day.
