California state Assemblyman Dan Logue lost his challenge to incumbent Rep. John Garamendi (D-Calif.) in Tuesday's election.
Logue, who has served in the state legislature since 2008, announced his campaign in summer 2013. He was endorsed by a number of key California Republicans, including House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
Garamendi, the former California Lieutenant Governor, was first elected to Congress in 2009.
