Here's What Happened When Daniel Franzese Showed Grindr To His Mom

“This is like going to Vegas and picking out a prostitute!”

“Mean Girls” and “Looking” star Daniel Franzese may be newly engaged, but he hasn’t forgotten the trials and tribulations of being a gay single man.

To prove it, the 38-year-old actor showed his Italian mother, Denise, how to use Grindr in a hilarious (and heartfelt) new World of Wonder video.

Turns out, Denise wasn’t initially impressed by the popular gay dating app. “Ninety-nine percent of this is all sexual,” she said in the July 25 clip. As she perused profiles, she added, “This is like going to Vegas and picking out a prostitute!”

Though Denise noted that online dating wasn’t really her speed, she didn’t mince words when it came to gay men who specified, “no fats, no fems, no Asians, no blacks” in their profile. “Stay by yourself, that’s where you belong,” she said. “You’re miserable ― stay that way!”

Denise also had some sage advice for gay men who are looking for love. “Believe me, I have 60 years of experience, so I can tell you: if you don’t value yourself, no one will value you,” she said. “So if you don’t love yourself, you’re not gonna get someone to love you right.”

Preach, mama Denise!
