A Host Of Legends Attended Derek Jeter Day, Including Michael Jordan (VIDEO)

WATCH: MJ Pays His Respect To The Captain

The Yankees rolled out a star-studded tribute to retiring superstar Derek Jeter on Sunday, including appearances from former teammates, family and friends. A few Hall of Famers also went to tip their hat to The Captain, such as Cal Ripken Jr. and Dave Winfield. However, there was one surprise guest in attendance whose star wattage outshines all the rest: His Airness.

After a stirring introduction from Yankees play-by-play announcer Michael Kay, NBA legend Michael Jordan emerged from the Yankees dugout and hugged Jeter (a hug that included 11 NBA and MLB championships).

“MJ is like a brother to me,” Jeter told NJ.com after the game. “I've known him for quite some time ... It was great that he could be a part of it.”

Jordan confirmed that the feeling was mutual.

"Derek's my idol," he said, via ESPN New York. "I love that kid."
