I recently broke an Ikea table lamp like this one.
I was reluctant to just throw the base away.
So, I spray painted it silver. Added a cooler light bulb...
... and put an old vase on top of the base.
You can create a lamp like this too with just a few easy steps. You can buy plain, pre-wired lamp bases at your local hardware store or, you can take the original globe off of your Ikea lamp and do it this way. Hang on to the white glass globe for that light though, because there is a D.I.Y. about what to do with that coming soon.......
