Donald Trump Agrees To Appear On 'Fox & Friends' Tuesday Morning

The announcement comes after several tense days in which the businessman has hurled insults at Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

Businessman Donald Trump will appear on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” Tuesday at 7 a.m. Eastern time, the show’s Steve Doocy said on Twitter Monday afternoon.

The announcement comes after several tense days in which the GOP presidential candidate has hurled insults at Fox News host and moderator Megyn Kelly, who asked him during Thursday’s primary debate about disparaging remarks he’s made about women.

The tension reached a boiling point Friday, when Trump said on CNN that Kelly “had blood coming out of her wherever” during the debate. Many have interpreted this as Trump saying Kelly was menstruating, though the candidate said in a statement that he meant she had blood coming out of her ears or nose.

Trump has blasted the network for singling him out for criticism during the debate. He said Monday on Twitter that Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes has assured him the network will treat him fairly.

Ailes released his own statement Monday, expressing support for Kelly but pledging to cover Trump’s campaign fairly.

“Donald Trump and I spoke today,” Ailes said. “We discussed our concerns, and I again expressed my confidence in Megyn Kelly. She is a brilliant journalist and I support her 100 percent. I assured him that we will continue to cover this campaign with fairness & balance. We had a blunt but cordial conversation and the air has been cleared.”

This post has been updated to include a statement from Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.
