Tom Brady showed zero interest in answering the media’s questions about a recently leaked recording featuring Donald Trump’s lewd comments about women.
“Tom, you have kids of your own,” a reporter asked the Patriots quarterback at a Wednesday press conference. “How would you respond if your kids heard Donald Trump’s version of locker room talk?”
Brady smiled, stated, “Thank you guys, have a good day,” and walked off-camera.
“Locker room talk” is how Trump has repeatedly characterized his 2005 conversation with then-“Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush, though what he actually described sounded more like sexual assault.
“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful ― I just start kissing them,” Trump can be heard saying in the video. “It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything … Grab them by the pussy.”
Brady has called Trump a “good friend” and said in September 2015 that “it’d be great” if Trump won the election. But he walked back that endorsement just a few days later, clarifying that he wouldn’t say who would get his vote. He also noted, “I don’t know even know what the issues are” and said he didn’t pay attention to politics.
Though Brady has opted not to remark on Trump’s alarming comments, other professional athletes have come out to say that pretty much no one actually talks like Trump in real locker rooms.
