Newcomer Maddie Baillio, Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson and multiple Tony-winner Harvey Fierstein, who played Edna Turnblad in the original Broadway production, are headlining the live production. Martin Short, Derek Hough and Ariana Grande, who will take on the role of Penny Pingleton, are also starring.
“Hairspray Live” is set to air on Dec. 7 on NBC.
