Florida Dad Let Teen Daughter Dance, Do Drugs At Strip Club: Cops

The suspect's lawyer says dancing on a stripper pole is not simulated sexual intercourse.

A Florida man allegedly brought his teenage daughter into a Miami strip club to drink, do drugs, and dance on a stripper pole.

Jose Manuel Arguelles, 59, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with child neglect, allowing a child under 18 to do cocaine and smoke marijuana, and eight counts of sexual performance by a child to promote sex, the Miami Herald reports.

Authorities say Arguelles took his 16-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old friend to the Pink Pony and provided them drinks and cocaine.

Arguelles' ex-wife, the child's mother, found out about the criminal family outing when she saw cell phone photos and video of the daughter and her friend drinking and snorting cocaine in the club, according to NBC Miami.

When questioned, the daughter told police that her dad took them to the strip club several times over the last six months, according to the Associated Press. The other victim gave police a similar story of booze- and drug-fueled nights at the club.

The two teens did not get naked at the club, but were seen dancing around the stripper pole in bikinis.

Miami-Dade Corrections

Arguelles told police he's a club promoter and allegedly admitted to the outings, according to a police report obtained by the Miami Herald.

Arguelles' attorney, Chris Mancini, told a judge Thursday his client did not force his child to simulate sex.

"Judge, look, I know this is serious. But dancing on a stripper pole is not simulated sexual intercourse," he said according to the New York Daily News.

Along with Arguelles' arrest, police also shut down the Pink Pony pending an investigation.
