George Takei And Stephen Colbert Ride Out 'Star Trek' Attack

The 79-year-old actor proves he's still in ship-shape.

George Takei appeared Thursday on “The Late Show” to salute the 50th anniversary of the television series “Star Trek.”

But it didn’t take long for Takei, who played Sulu in the original show and in several movies, to be called into duty. Soon after Takei reminisced about his first script read with “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry, host Stephen Colbert signaled a red alert and the Ed Sullivan Theater, er, USS Enterprise, was under attack.

Watch Takei and Colbert ride it out. The full conversation and attack (beginning around 4:50) are above.
