This girl made a huge sacrifice -- all in the name of love.
Libby Tucker-Spiers, a 9-year-old from Milton Keynes, a town in Buckinghamshire, England, had long blonde hair and wanted to look like Rapunzel, ABC News reported. But that changed after she visited her "boyfriend," Aiden Selleck, in hospital, where he was undergoing chemotherapy to treat a type of kidney cancer. The treatment left 7-year-old Aiden without hair.

Libby was deeply affected by what she saw.
"She said, 'I want to give Aiden my hair,'" Libby's mother, Charlie Spiers, told ABC News. "I said, 'You can't.' and she said, 'But I want to, I miss his lovely hair.'"
Since Aiden wasn't interested in wearing a wig, Spiers told her daughter about the Little Princess Trust, a charity in the U.K. that provides wigs to boys and girls. Last Tuesday, Libby had 11 inches of her hair cut off to donate to the organization.

"We think Libby is amazing for doing this," Clare Selleck, Aiden's mother, told The Huffington Post in an email. "Charlie told me how upset Libby was, seeing Aiden losing his hair when she visited him in hospital and how she wanted to do something to help. They have a truly lovely friendship."
The kids' families have known one another for some time and Libby and Aiden have grown close -- so close that the two consider themselves to be in a relationship.
"They say they're boyfriend and girlfriend," Spiers told ABC News. "On Valentine's Day they got each other cards and everything."

Libby had visited Aiden after his third round of chemotherapy and had only seen him with a full head of hair prior to the visit. When Aiden finally saw his "girlfriend" with her new hairstyle, he was pleased.
"He said 'Libby, it's very short,'" Selleck told HuffPost. "But he said [that] it looks lovely."
But Libby didn't just get a compliment. Spiers told HuffPost that Aiden also gave the 9-year-old a necklace as a thank-you for raising awareness for his condition.

Aiden recently completed his fifth week of chemotherapy, his mother told HuffPost. He's set to complete the treatment in December and, of course, Libby's got something big planned for the occasion. Spiers said that her daughter is raising money to throw Aiden an "End of Chemo" party and perhaps send her boyfriend on a trip to Disney. Libby, Spiers joked, will come along in his suitcase.
