Fanciest Donut Ever Is Covered With 24-Karat Gold And Costs $100

Yes, really.

Brooklyn, you've just out-Brooklyned yourself.

The hipster's paradise of the world is home to many interesting culinary endeavors. Now it's also home to a fancy donut lover's dream come true. Behold, the Golden Cristal Ube donut from restaurant Manila Social Club:

Made with an ube (or purple yam) base, the dramatic-looking donut is topped with Cristal Champagne icing and filled with Champagne jelly and ube mousse. It is then, of course, covered in 24-karat gold.

The donut is available to order -- for a whopping $100 each. But before you roll your eyes, consider this: Björn DelaCruz, Manila Social Club's head chef and founder, told First We Feast that within the five boroughs and tri-state area, he hand delivers every donut ordered.

"I take pride in this, and to me it’s a piece of art," he said.

Perhaps that's why New Yorkers are allegedly ordering them by the dozen. Or perhaps they're just extravagant New Yorkers. Either way.
