Another Bush-Era Staffer Endorses Hillary Clinton

The list just keeps getting longer.

James Glassman, the former under secretary of state for public diplomacy to President George W. Bush, has joined the group of former Bush staffers and other GOP figures supporting the presidential nominee from the opposing party.

Hillary Clinton is “by far the superior candidate,” Glassman, who is the current founding executive director of the George W. Bush Institute, said on MSNBC Monday. He added that “millions of Republicans” are also in Clinton’s camp.

“She has the experience. She’s got the character. She has the values,” Glassman said.

He also bashed former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has been campaigning for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, on Twitter Monday:

The number of former Bush staffers alone who have endorsed Clinton is shockingly large. They include former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and Bush intelligence adviser Brent Scowcroft.

Then there are GOP figures like former Rep. Chris Shays (Conn.) who recently joined the list of Clinton endorsers.

Current GOP members of Congress, including Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Lindsey Graham (S.C.) and Mark Kirk (Ill.), have also hopped aboard the anti-Trump train.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
