Groom Dies On Off-Road Ride On Wedding Night

A new husband died on his wedding night when the UTV driven by his brother smashed into a tree and pinned him underneath the vehicle, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

The groom Nicholas Hoag married his fiancee Amber Sartori, 22, on Saturday in Sherman, Conn., the New York Daily News said.

Hoag's brother, Christopher, was arrested for allegedly driving the off-roader while intoxicated at 11:30 p.m.that night in in Dover Plains, N.Y., according to The Journal.

"It's like a living nightmare," Michael Sartori, 55, the father of the bride, told The Journal. The two were a couple for five years, he added.

Christopher Hoag was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to The Associated Press. Authorities have already said that he will likely face additional charges from the collision.

Police said there were no other passengers in the Can-Am Commander 1000 UTV, according to The Daily News.
