Hawaii Man Accused Of Murdering Wife In Front Of Young Daughter

The 10-year-old girl was reportedly found hiding in a back bedroom.

Honolulu police say a 10-year-old girl witnessed her father brutally stab her mother to death at the family's Aliamanu home.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Thursday that, according to a police affidavit, officers responded to a stabbing call at the couple's house Monday evening. After knocking on the door, officers reportedly looked through a window and saw 43-year-old Cecilia Fiesta lying on the floor, covered in blood.

Upon entering the home, police found Fiesta's 10-year-old daughter locked in a back bedroom, the newspaper reported. The girl told officers that she was sitting on the couch in the living room with her mother when her parents got into an argument.

When her mother stood up, her father, 46-year-old Pablo Fiesta Jr., allegedly pushed her backward onto a table in the kitchen, grabbed a knife from a drawer and stabbed her mother about six times.

According to local news station Hawaii News Now, the girl then locked herself in a room and called for help.

Honolulu Police Department

Police located and arrested Pablo Fiesta the following day. He was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder and his bail was set at $500,000.

The Honolulu medical examiner confirmed Cecilia Fiesta died of multiple stab wounds to the torso, as reported by KHON2.

Cecilia Fiesta worked as part of the housekeeping staff at Honolulu's Tripler Army Medical Center. In a statement Thursday, TAMC Commander Col. David K. Dunning said he was saddened by the loss, and described Cecilia Fiesta as a "hardworking, loyal and dedicated member" of the staff.

Pablo Fiesta had his initial court appearance Thursday and remains in police custody.
