Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Cancel Campaign Events After Dallas Shooting

Both released statements on the deaths of five officers in the Dallas shooting.

Presumptive presidential nominees Hillary Clinton (D) and Donald Trump (R) canceled campaign events Friday after five police officers were killed and others injured in an “ambush-style” attack in Dallas.

Trump was scheduled to speak in Miami, Florida, alongside New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Trump addressed the shooting in a statement, mourning the lives of the police killed as well as the two black men who were shot by police officers earlier this week.

Clinton was scheduled to appear with Vice President Joe Biden in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Clinton addressed the shootings in a tweet Friday morning:

President Barack Obama spoke on the shooting from Warsaw, Poland, Friday morning, calling it a “a vicious, despicable, and calculated attack on law enforcement.”

“I think I speak for every single American when I say that we are horrified,” he said.
