Historic Boblo Island Block House From 1800s To Be Moved

WATCH: This Boblo Island Block House Is On The Move

More than a year ago, Bill Brundage was reminiscing with his son-in-law about his teaching days. He'd take his Leamington Grade 8 class to Boblo Island at the end of the school year. They'd go to the southern tip of the island near the lighthouse and part the weeds to see the 172-yearold Bois Blanc South Blockhouse, probably one of the last blockhouses built in Canada by the British. Then he'd set the kids loose on the amusement park that had been operating on the island since 1910.
