During a prayer service in June of 2015, nine African American individuals in Charlotte, North Carolina lost their lives as Dylann Roof murdered them in hopes of igniting a race war. While this tragedy will never be forgotten, the city is also home to a myriad of other victims. TaWanda Duncan has created a space where such individuals can come together to heal together, a place where they can establish networks with local organizations leading to sustainable success. Our communities, both near and far, rely on hope… Hope that we are doing all we can to build the strength that lies in us all. We at The Pollination Project know that this hope stems from our seven newest grantees.
