Despite being the most popular social media platform in the world, Facebook is one of the most under-utilized online advertising networks out there today.

Those who claim they don’t use ads on Facebook may be due more to a lack of understanding rather than on how to build a truly successful Facebook strategy.

It’s pretty clear people love the site more than ever though, as it is the highest used social media logged into today and that can have a large effect on gaining ad traffic —70% of Facebook users in the U.S. log into Facebook every day, compared with 59% on Instagram, 38% on Twitter, according to Pew Research Center.

1. Have value

One of the biggest mistakes that entrepreneurs make when developing a Facebook advertising campaign, is diving into the process with a product or service invaluable to the public. Advertising, marketing and psychology go hand in hand so it takes a careful hand to persuade someone on to a new path that they aren’t already on or thinking about being on. To establish whether your product or service is of value, pose a question about it like these – “Are you beachbod ready?” “Do you know how I made a 7-figure consulting business?”

2. Have a strategy

Very rarely should you connect an ad to your direct website. First push visitors through a landing page offering them value like a blog post, trial or video before you’re asking them to buy. Then tailor your ads to fit your niche; age, sex, location.

3. Its visual

Remember 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual. No matter what type of ad make it visually appealing, but remember having video is even better.

4. Call-to-action

Add a CTA at the end of text with a sense of urgency to your viewer – “Buy now and save X%,” or “Offer ends soon”.
