An Indiana beauty queen died early Saturday morning when the car she was in veered off the road and hit several trees. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Abby Sutherland, 20, was the reigning Miss Crawford County and planned to participate in the County Queens Day at the Indiana State Fair on August 16, according to WHAS11.

"She loved everything about life, had so much to give, so much left ahead of her, she was amazing," friend Tigre Flannery told WTHR.

The driver, whose identity has been withheld, was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the incident.

The funeral was scheduled to be held Tuesday morning, according to The Courier-Journal.

The family has asked for donations to Kosair Children's Hospital for cancer research in lieu of flowers.
