The wait is over. The James Beard Awards of 2017 are over. Last week, the recipients of the media awards were announced. And last night, in Chicago, the winners of the best chef and restaurant categories were awarded.
It’s a lovely list, with New York City taking the best new restaurant spot for Le CouCou and the honor of outstanding chef going to Michael Solomonov of Zahav in Philadelphia.
But the biggest award of the night was unexpected, with Outstanding Restaurant going to Rick Bayless’ Topolobampo in Chicago.
Check out the complete list to find out which restaurants will be impossible to get into for the next year or so.
