CNN Analyst Compares Syria Strike To Kentucky Basketball

Apparently they're two different things!

Looking for a way to talk down to your audience? Just tell them a U.S. military strike on foreign soil is not, in fact, like Kentucky basketball.

That’s what happened on CNN Thursday night following President Donald Trump’s surprise missile attack on a Syrian air base. Speaking to Anderson Cooper, retired Army Maj. Gen. James “Spider” Marks, a military analyst for the network, contrasted the strike in Syria with ― of all things ― Kentucky’s college basketball program.

“This is not like Kentucky basketball, one and done,” Marks said, referring to the Kentucky Wildcats’ program that tends to focus on players who play a single season before heading to the NBA. “This is the start of a series of operations.”

Even the Wildcats themselves took note of the peculiar analysis.

You know what else the Syria strike isn’t like? Any basketball situation ever.

CNN did not immediately respond to The Huffington Post’s email.
