“I’m a college dropout.” explains Joel Contartese.
Perhaps this isn’t the first thing you would expect to hear when you think of the term “successful entrepreneur.” It’s understandably a controversial subject. However, when we take a closer look at the world’s self-made million and billionaires, one thing that they all have in common is that they either didn’t go or dropped out of college. While some stress formal education, others believe that having Entrepreneurial street smarts is more than enough to succeed. They have a strong desire to learn trade with a tenacity to keep on learning as they go along.
That’s how it all worked out for Contartese.
The reason why I want people to know this is not to brag that I have seen success without a degree and for some reason that "makes me better" but rather to inspire those who may not have a chance at a formal education, or like me simply did not feel it was for them. There is hope, there is opportunity, no piece of paper or person can tell you you're not deserving.

As an immigrant in America, he was illegally here in the states at one point in time. That feeling loomed over him for many years preventing him from fully experiencing many luxuries as a citizen. Things such as obtaining a license, getting a job and applying for credit cards. This experiences forced him to grow up quicker than most which resulted to him becoming an entrepreneur to survive.
Over the years, Joel’s resilience has paid off in all areas of his life. Through his experience working with big companies such as Shredz and ALOHA helped him gain the most valuable insight that contributed to his business. Having stepped away from his thriving social media business in 2013 for a bit to pursue the experience of helping other startups provided him with the knowledge to best serve his clients now.
My take away from this experience was truly proof that when God takes something from you he gives you something better.
Now going back full on with his Social Media Business and living in Los Angeles, Joel learned anyone’s path can change on a daily basis; however if you are committed to the "what" — the "how" will show up. His “what” is his quality of work that he provides for his clients in the most inspirational way. It's important for his clients to know his commitment to their success. Why? Simply because in business many times doors close, campaigns may not work, products may not sell — and regardless of the situation Contartese will innovate a way around it to reach the finish line.
