John Legend Clears Up Some Confusion For Trump Jr.: Your Father Is Racist

John Legend calls a spade a spade in tweet response to Donald Trump Jr.

John Legend pointed out something on Twitter that should be common knowledge by now: Donald Trump is a racist.

Unfortunately, the racialized overtones of Trump's campaign are lost on many people, including his son, Donald Trump Jr. On Friday, Trump tweeted about anti-Trump protesters who stood against the presidential candidate's attitude and rhetoric led to the cancellation of his father's rally in Chicago.

Legend stepped in to call out how bogus Trump's tweet was.

Trump responded by brushing Legend's claim of his dad's bigotry off as divisive language -- because apparently racism is not a thing in 2016.

But, of course, the Grammy award-winning artist had the perfect mic drop response.

He even had receipts for the Trump trolls, providing ample evidence of how foolish defending Trump's bigotry actually sounds.

Legend, along with his wife Chrissy Teigen, hasn't shied away from calling out injustice. Legend, who is the executive producer of the new drama about slavery "Underground," said that this country must confront its history in order to address race relations today.

“When you think of the depths of oppression and the depths of the evil that [black slaves] faced -- and they decided to do something that was against the odds anyway -- we can apply that to anything that we’re going through today,” he said during an AOL Build interview with Touré on Wednesday. “It’s not nearly as oppressive now, but we’re still fighting for justice in America and we can take courage from their courage. We can be inspired by their heroism.”

Keep speaking the truth, John!

Editor's note: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims -- 1.6 billion members of an entire religion -- from entering the U.S.
