Woman Allegedly Sprays Weed Killer In 7-Year-Old Girl's Face

A woman in California was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly spraying weedkiller in the face of a 7-year-old girl.

Julie Rodenhuis, 60, moved into an apartment complex in Grover Beach about four years ago, and neighbors told KCOY that ever since, their kids have been so afraid of her that they've been hesitant to play outside.

Their fears may have been justified, since police say that Wednesday at around 7:15 p.m., Rodenhuis approached a little girl who was playing outside and sprayed poisonous weed killer directly into the child's face, the San Luis Obispo Tribune reports.

Neighbors told KCOY they believe Rodenhuis did it because the girl, who also lives in the complex, splashed water on her at the pool.

Rodenhuis was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious injury and child endangerment, all felonies, according to an arrest report obtained by The Smoking Gun.

The 7-year-old girl was treated at a hospital and released.
