LGBT Republicans, Justin Sayre Wants To Have A Word With You

"Let's be honest: we had the Cadillac of presidents in Obama."

If you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) and are planning to vote Republican in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, writer-performer Justin Sayre wants to have a word with you.

"We have to support women. We have to support people," Sayre says in his latest clip for HuffPost Gay Voices. "Let's be honest: we had the Cadillac of presidents in Obama. Yes, he didn't everything we wanted [him] to do, but he was charismatic and fun."
When it comes to 2016 Republican presidential hopefuls Ben Carson and Donald Trump, Sayre doesn't hold back. Still, he does admire one aspect of the GOP.

"I wish, for a second, I had a Republican sense of self-esteem," he quips. "If I had an ounce of it, I could conquer the world."

Sayre's "International Order of Sodomites" (I.O.S.) gathers once a month for "The Meeting," a variety show honoring an artist or a cultural work that is iconic to the gay community. The next installment of "The Meeting" hits San Francisco's Oasis on Saturday, Dec. 12.

Later this month, Sayre returns to Joe's Pub for the holiday edition of "The Meeting" on Dec. 20 and 21.

In other news, "Sparkle & Circulate with Justin Sayre," the official I.O.S. podcast, has just released its latest episode featuring an interview with David Thorpe, the writer and director of the documentary, "Do I Sound Gay?"

Meanwhile, you can also view some previous performances from "The Meeting" on Sayre's official YouTube page. For more Sayre, head to Facebook and Twitter.
