6 Big Brothers Adorably Greet Their First Sister

"She's as precious as a ruby."

A few months ago, the six Lair brothers didn't know what it was like to have a sister. That all changed when Ruby Jane Lair entered the world.

According to The News and Observer, North Carolina parents Cher and Stephen Lair welcomed their daughter, Ruby, on Aug. 26. Their latest bundle of joy, who helped cause a stir in April thanks to her parents' viral gender reveal video, marked the end of a 13-year streak of baby boys. To celebrate Ruby's arrival, The News and Observer filmed all of her big brothers cuddling with her and revealing how they felt about having a little sister around.

"She is cuter than I thought she would be," said 4-year-old Shepherd. Actions spoke louder than words for 2-year-old Knox and 5-year-old Houston, who showed their affection with sweet kisses.

As for Ruby's future, Campbell, 10, said that he is "definitely going to be a protector," and talked about when she's old enough to have a boyfriend.

"All she’s going to say is, 'Meet my brothers. To have me you’re going to have to go through them,'" he said.

One thing is for sure: Ruby is a lucky little girl.
