Lisa Lampanelli Sounds Off On Menopause

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli didn't hold back in explaining her experiences going through menopause in a HuffPost Live interview last Thursday, which included a surprisingly positive outlook on her "lack of sex drive."

"Think about how good this is -- making no joke about it -- if you have a sort of lowered sex drive. You're not going to date someone who you just like physically," she told host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. "You're going to have to get to know him slowly."

The recently-divorced funny woman said she'd love to have a "good ol' fashioned pen pal relationship" with somebody for a year, to see if she likes "their inner-self"

"Part of it's the menopause, because I'm not really that into anything right now, but I think that'll pass and eventually I'll open up," she explained. "This time, it'll be to the right type of person who gets you on that spiritual level that you want to be gotten on."

In true Lampanelli-fashion, the self-proclaimed "Queen of Mean" had no qualms making fun of her menopausal self, saying "I'm over 50. I'm never going to win any beauty contests. I need more hormone therapy than Chaz Bono."
