London's Orbit Tower Is Becoming A Giant Slide

Big Ben and the London Eye are two of the most iconic sites in London, but the Orbit Tower sculpture in the city's Olympic Park might soon be the most fun.

The BBC reports that the tower is set to become one of the "longest and tallest" tunnel slides in the world after plans were approved at a recent meeting of the London Legacy Development Corporation.

Construction on Orbit Tower is set to start soon as the new 249-foot slide attraction is slated to open in Spring 2016. Olympic Park's director of visitor services, Peter Tudor, told Leading Britain's Conversation that the ride will be 40 seconds long and cost about $8 per person. Visitors will reportedly be able to reach up to 15 miles per hour as they slide.
