A 58-year-old man was in critical condition after lighting himself on fire near City Hall in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday.

Police said they believe the man was attempting suicide around 11 a.m.

Firefighters were examining a bottle of clear liquid that was found near the man, which may have been used to start the fire, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Witnesses posted photos of the investigation on Twitter.
