MMA Fighter Mayhem Miller Live Tweeted His Own Police Standoff [UPDATE]

Police surrounded the California home of mixed-martial arts fighter "Mayhem Miller" Thursday, as the suspect tweeted a play-by-play of his own dramatic standoff.

The suspect, whose real name is Jason Miller, was still tweeting bizarre updates Thursday afternoon from his Mission Viejo home. A SWAT team was parked outside as police attempted to serve an arrest warrant for domestic violence and stalking, but Miller allegedly barricaded himself inside.

Late in the afternoon, Orange County Sheriff's deputies reported that Miller surrendered:

It wasn't immediately clear why he decided to lock himself indoors, though KTLA reports that he's had plenty of contact with sheriff's deputies in the past over domestic violence charges. His tweets don't offer much information about the incident, either.

"ALL THIS because I wanted to help raise a young boy into a man, and his mama [went] off her meds," he wrote at about 2 p.m. Eastern Time. "And an ambitious DA thinks mayhem is BAD."

The 33-year-old fighter was charged in 2012 in connection to vandalism of a church. In 2013, he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

"He retreated into the house, was uncooperative with any of the commands by sheriff’s deputies, and based on that, we established a perimeter, called out the SWAT team and now we’re in the process of establishing communication with him inside the house," Orange County Sheriff Lt. Jeff Hallock told KTLA.
