Mila Kunis Calls Out Trump's Controversial Views On Immigration

The actress reflects on entering the country with a religious-refugee visa.

She was a "cool girl" before being a "cool girl" was a thing. She gave us hope on holding out for our middle school crushes when she married the recipient of her first kiss, Ashton Kutcher. She's team "f**k burpees, f**k squats." But if you need another reason to love Mila Kunis, she promptly delivered one when she shared her opinion of Donald Trump in a new Glamour interview.

"The whole Syrian-refugee thing -- we came here on a religious-refugee visa, and I’m not going to blow this country up," the actress, whose family is from Ukraine, told Glamour. "I’m clearly paying taxes. I’m not taking anything away. So the fact that people look at what’s happening and are like, 'Pfft, they’re going to blow shit up?' It saddens me how much fear we’ve instilled in ourselves."

Gracing the magazine's August cover, Kunis maintained her usual hilarious, deprecating demeanor, touching on motherhood and marriage. But when asked about the presidential candidate's controversial immigration views, Kunis was passionately "unimpressed."

"And going from there to the whole, 'Hey, let’s build a wall between Los Angeles and Mexico'.… I don’t even have to answer that one. There’s no point. It’s a really great sound bite. And it got him far. Nobody should be mad at him; we did it to ourselves," she said.

Kunis and her parents left USSR when she was young to escape a rising anti-Semitic tide with a family of seven and only $250 to their name. Kunis attributes her work ethic to her parents, who held multiple jobs while attending school to learn English at night.

"Growing up poor, I never missed out on anything. My parents did a beautiful job of not making me feel like I was lesser than any other kids," said Kunis.
