Murray State University ADVANCES With Vanderbilt Upset

Meet Murray State University.

A small college located in Murray, Kentucky, just north of Tennessee, Murray State is a state-funded college attended by approximately 9,000 students.

And it's gaining well-deserved attention after its 66-65 upset of No. 4 Vanderbilt in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

The Murray State Racers finished their season 30-4 and 15-0 at home with its only blemishes to California, Louisiana Tech, Western Kentucky and Morehead State. Each of those losses were by less than 10 points.

Murray State is best known for its well-balanced offensive attack, with five players averaging more than 10 points per game (Ivan Aska, B.J. Jenkins, Danero Thomas, Tony Easley, Isaiah Canaan). A sixth player, Isaac Miles, chipped in on average 9.5 points per game during the season.

How far will Murray State go? Some believe they could go at least one more round, with UTEP or Butler their next opponent. But being in Syracuse's bracket, anything beyond that would be more than surprising.
