Everybody knows their own family is weird, but it’s not something people typically advertise to the outside world.
Well, not anymore, thanks to Jimmy Fallon. The “Tonight Show” host encouraged people to reveal their family’s sordid secrets on Twitter using the hashtag #MyFamilyIsWeird, and the results were, as you might imagine, bizarre.
My 7 year old still hasn’t fully mastered wiping her backside so to check if it’s clean she uses her finger then “paints” the cabinets. My husband has nicknamed her Poocasso. #MyFamilyIsWeird

My grandmother has fake plants but she likes to use real dirt to make them seem real #MyFamilyIsWeird

#myfamilyisweird In the 70's my mom met my football hero in a bar. The only paper she had for an autograph was a picture of me dressed as a girl (I'm a guy). He signed it "lookin good Rick". Tough to bring that to the schoolyard..

Went to visit my parents. Two of my siblings live with them. Walking down the hallway I just happened to look up, and found 1 Frito chip sitting above one of the doorways. It’s been 3 years and still no one has cop to it. #MyFamilyIsWeird pic.twitter.com/glUr6kBPrX

When we were kids and our parents wanted us to something without arguing, they would say “Nike” instead of “Just Do It”. They thought this would be less embarrassing in front of our friends... they were wrong. #myfamilyisweird

My grandpa would sit in his chair with a blanket because he wasn’t wearing pants. When he got up, he’d yell, “Red light!” and we were to close our eyes. When he thought he was far enough down the hall, he’d yell, “Green light!” He never was far enough. #MyFamilyIsWeird

My dad duct taped a big piece of wood to the TV remote so it wouldn't get lost. He called it 'the stick of power.'

Then when the phone handset kept getting lost, he attached it to the base with a long piece of rope.
Why did he even buy a cordless phone??? #MyFamilyIsWeird
My Dad dumped what was left of his chocolate milkshake on the hood of my brother’s Jeep because “we’re going through the car wash anyway, may as well get our money’s worth.” #MyFamilyIsWeird

Whenever anyone passed gas, my dad made us stand up up because he thought the smell would get trapped in the couch cushions. When he stood up, he always said ‘whoops!’#MyFamilyIsWeird

My dad has a glass eye. One of his favorite pranks was throwing it in the pool when the kids were diving for quarters. #MyFamilyIsWeird

I heard my grandparents giggling upstairs once so I went and peeked in their bedroom and found them wearing each others dentures. #MyFamilyIsWeird
