New App Lets You Match Your Nail Polish To Literally Any Color Ever

๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿ’…

Ever watched a sunset and thought to yourself, "Man, I wish I could wear that EXACT shade of purple on my nails?" Well now there's an app for that.

ShadeScout Nails from FaceCake Marketing Technologies, Inc. is a free app that allows you to match almost any color you can find to its exact match of nail polish. It even gives you a range of options.

All you have to do is take or upload a photo, hover over the color you want to match and press the "Scout" button. The ShadeScout app instantly pulls up a list of brands and polish colors to match your request.

You can even "try on" the suggested colors through the app, as ShadeScout lets users pick the hand model's skin color, nail length and nail shape. There is also an option to favorite and buy the nail polish you pick.

"Itโ€™s about personalization and helping shoppers find exactly what they are looking for," FaceCake's founder and CEO Linda Smith told Mashable. "Wanting an instant way to translate brilliant real-life colors into direct product results, discovering new shades that are available for immediate purchase, and to have that ability in a mobile app, were among the inspirations for ShadeScout Nails."

We tried the app with some of our favorite things:

Macarons are always the most perfect colors. If you want that beautiful shade of marigold, ShadeScout delivers the suggestion of "Atomic Orange" by OPI. But the Formula X shade is a close second.

The Statue of Liberty's oxidized blue-green hue is iconic. If you want it on your nails, "Artful Dodger" by Butter London looks like the best choice.

In love with the soft pink in the twilight of this picture of Grand Teton National Park? Zoya always has a lot of great pink options but "lady like" by Essie is a great match.

In addition to uploading your own photos, users can also browse through the app's "Featured Shades" which pulls up trending nail polish colors either from images or celebrity sightings.

Currently, ShadeScout Nails features 25 brands, including China Glaze, Dolce&Gabbana and Julep.
