Storyful, the social news verification company that identifies UGC content for many top news organizations, which was recently acquired by News Corp for $25 million, is verifying videos for media partners including the New York Times, the BBC and many others which are serving 100 million monthly views cleared by Storyful, says Mark Little, the former Irish television newsman who founded the company and has located to New York.

Despite some concerns about the perception of independence, post acquisition, the company is maintaining its independence, Little says.

With brands seeking to verify and aggregate UGC, Storyful is applying its platform to native advertising programs on News Corp properties, he says.

Beet.TV interviewed him last night at The New York Times at a media reception for its new App.
