Dr. Phil And Oprah Reunite For Rare Interview; Watch A Sneak Peek Of Oprah’s Exciting New Project

Oprah Winfrey returns to the Dr. Phil stage for a rare interview on Thursday, October 15. In this daytime exclusive, Oprah and Dr. Phil recall unforgettable times from their more than 20-year friendship and working relationship, and Oprah shares a preview of her new inspirational television project, “Belief”, an epic 7-part OWN documentary series that showcases powerful stories of people embarking on incredible spiritual journeys in the far reaches of the world.

It's been 14 years since Dr. Phil was a regular on The Oprah Winfrey Show, but when the two of them come together, it's like old friends who haven't missed a beat.

"You suppose I could have you on every Tuesday?" Dr. Phil jokes with Oprah, recalling how he got his start on television by appearing on her daytime talk show every Tuesday.

"I loved Tuesdays," Oprah responds. "You remember I used to say, 'I’m so glad you’re here, I can leave my brain at home!' It was fantastic."

The two met when Oprah hired Dr. Phil to work with her during a contentious trial in Texas -- which she ultimately won. “I wanted you to come on television and do for the other people what you had done for me," she recalls about why she wanted him to come on her show initially. "How you allowed me to see a deeper part of myself.”

So Dr. Phil started appearing on Oprah regularly, and then Oprah partnered with him to launch his own TV show 13 years ago. "I feel like I raised this dude," she says in the video above. Getting sentimental, Oprah adds, “I must say, I done good raising ya!”

On Thursday's episode of Dr. Phil, Oprah offers an exclusive sneak preview "Belief," where she introduces some of the most compelling and extraordinary people and moments from the series. Among them are Reshma, a young woman who quit her job to travel to the Ganges River in India for the Kumbh Mela, the world’s largest spiritual gathering, and Larissa and Ian, a couple who fell in love during college. After a horrific car accident, Ian suffered a traumatic brain injury, dramatically changing their relationship and showing them what it means to love unconditionally.

“My great hope was to create a series that would be ‘Planet Spirit’ for our planet so that we would be able to see what people of the world believe and how that connects us as one,” says Oprah.
