Pets are cute. Pet hair on furniture is not.

As designer Kim Myles of "Home Made Simple" knows firsthand, pet hair becomes an inevitable part of the décor when you have a cat or dog in the house. Most of us haul out the vacuum or use countless lint roller sheets to get rid of those clumps of fur, but Kim says there's actually a much simpler way to make your couch hair-free.

All you need are rubber kitchen gloves and a small bowl of water.

As Kim demonstrates in the above video, you put on the glove, get it wet and gently run it across the surface of the upholstery. It will catch the hair and clean your furniture quickly and effectively.

"It does not get simpler than that!" Kim says.

"Home Made Simple" airs Saturdays at 9 a.m. ET on OWN.
