Prince's ex-wife Mayte Garcia is "devastated" about the loss of her former husband. The "Hollywood Exes" star issued a statement about her husband's death on her Instagram account Thursday, which originally appeared in People.

"I can't even think of the words of what I'm feeling," Garcia said. "This man was my everything, we had a family. I am beyond deeply saddened and devastated."

Garcia met Prince at one of his concerts when she was only 16 years old. The young dancer joined Prince's band after graduating high school and later provided the inspiration for one of Prince's most famous songs, "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World."

The two married in 1996 when Garcia was only 22, and would tragically lose their son later that year to Pfeiffer syndrome. Garcia and Prince divorced in 2000.

"I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally," Garcia captioned her photo. "He's with our son now."

Countless celebrities have spoken out since news of Prince's untimely death at 57 on Thursday. Tributes have popped up for the beloved singer all around the world, turning everything from bridges to city halls purple.
