Rebecca Black Drops New Music Video On A Friday, Of All Days

Bonus: It's not awful.

No matter how hard we try, we’ll never be able to stop pairing the word “Friday” and Rebecca Black together.

The 19-year-old singer dropped a music video on, shockingly, Friday for her new single “Foolish,” and we don’t hate it. In all honestly, it’s pretty great. Black dropped the electro-pop video exclusively on Entertainment Weekly before making it public on YouTube.

While the song doesn’t feature any front-seat or back-seat dilemmas, but the video has its own merits. “Foolish” is a fun, sexy, summer beat that could easily be a top radio hit. And people are here for it.

It’s pretty great that Black stuck to music after all the hate she received for her viral 2011 music video “Friday.” Rather than hiding away, the teen started her own YouTube channel and addressed all the mean comments people sent her way.

“I don’t really care if anyone hates me, as you can tell,” Black says in one of her videos. “It’s been three and a half years. I’m still here. I’m still singing. You can say whatever you want about me, but I think I’m sticking around, so ... sorry ‘bout it.” (And, naturally, she also released a follow-up in 2013 called “Saturday.”)

But just like every bad choice we made as young adults, “Friday” will probably always be synonymous with her name. There’s no shame in that, though, because the day does come around more than 50 times a year.
